There are lots of options for great summer vacations, but if you own a horse or horses, you might be considering a Trail Ride. Trail Riding is a great way to enjoy your horse, nature, and the company of friends. Along with all the fun of a trail ride, there can be some hazards and challenges. Things like lightening, the sudden appearance of a rabbit or deer, a washed out bridge or your horse's refusal to walk past something she's not used to seeing. You can't anticipate everything that may come your way, but you can start out as prepared and well equipped as possible. Here are some great tips to help you have a safe trail ride.
Plan ahead. Study any trail maps, plan your route and if you're traveling any distance, make arrangements for overnight lodging and trailer parking. Talk to the appropriate park rangers, trail guides or riding clubs about the local trail conditions. Keep an eye on the weather forecast.
Put together a pack of essentials to take on the trail ride. Things to include should be a map of the area, food bars, bottled water, waterproof matches or lighter, flashlight and tissue. Other things that are a good idea to include would be spare reins and tack, leather pieces for tack repair, a compass, flagging tape to mark your trail and a whistle to call for help, if needed. There are many remote areas where a cell phone won't work.
Before starting your trip, make sure your truck and trailer are in good condition for travel. Protect your horse's legs with shipping boots or pillow wraps. If your horse throws his head you will need a head bumper also, and take along a light blanket for travel in colder areas.
Once you're on your way, stop frequently to give your horse a drink, check his covering and body temperature and feed. Also, be sure and check your trailer hitch and safety chains to make sure nothing has loosened during the drive.
With a little planning ahead a trail ride will be a great way to spend some leisure time this summer.

The Auto Parts Market:jeep Axle & Bumper Replacement
The automobile replacement market is probably the largest market segment of the automobile industry in the world. The number of automobiles that require servicing is ten times more than the number of vehicles sold in a year. For every automobile manufacturer it seems there are 20 spare part manufacturers.
Types of Auto parts available:

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
Ancillary unit companies manufacture and supply the main manufacturer with some or most of their original parts. These manufacturers are Original Equipment Manufacturers or OEMs. OEMs also supply the replacement markets with spares. However, these spares can be very expensive compared to other competing manufacturers because they are original spares. For example, Jeep owners prefer to replace parts with spares made by other manufacturers. These spares like the Cherokee bumper and jeep axle are no way inferior to the original but there is a vast difference in the price.
Discussing a couple of commonly replaced Jeep parts:
Difference in Jeep axles and common car axles
The transmission of a car transmits the power from the engine to the rear wheels of the car through the rear axle or the front wheels in cars with four wheel drives. In a jeep, all four wheels are powered through front and rear axles. Jeep owners prefer to replace their jeep axles with axles manufactured by non-OEMs, because of the cost factor. Another reason could be that the OEMs have to keep to the design of the original axles and bumper. Most Jeep owners prefer to replace their jeep bumpers with a Cherokee bumper because of the classy look as well as the sturdiness of the equipment.
Think Tough, think Cherokee bumpers.
The Cherokee bumper is constructed of 3/16 inch grade-fifty formed steel known for its extraordinary strength. The mounting brackets consist of the same grade metal plate and are cut and shaped via laser for a precise fit. An attractive feature of this bumper is that the mounting brackets also act as an outer steering box brace to help reinforce the weak body where the steering box mounts in Cherokees and jeeps. The Monitor Lizard Front Bumper comes in standard Matte black powder coating with inch thick shackle mounting tabs, a front hitch receiver, and outer steering box brace built into the bumper mounts.
Conclusion
When it comes to changing Jeep axles and bumpers Jeep owners do well to get the designs for their choice at cheaper rates. Original equipment is not a necessity.

Where can I place the Hitch chains if towing a small boat with a bumper mounted ball?
I have a 2001 Tacoma and plan on towing a small boat with it. I found out that my bumper can hold the weight but I want to know where to install the safety chains, I don't have any other holes to latch them to other than the chassis.
If the bumper itself does not have any holes in it on both sides of the trailer ball, you can either drill in a couple yourself, have it done or hook the chains under the bumper on the bottom edge. Holes would be best. or place a short set of chains underneath that you could attach the trailer chains to.
