While moving under force of gravity (coasting) and braking, this rear electric motor acts as a generator. In other circumstances the two models work as front drive SUVs.

Ok well base your answers on reliability and knowledge of these used vehicles.
My friend's Equinox is incredibly roomy inside. People in the back seat have so much room you would think its a full size SUV. The stock basic sound system is good although some of the plastics of the interior are a little cheap. Also his rotors became warped but otherwise the power steering is so nice that you could drive with just your pinky. Brakes are good apart form the warped rotors. It comes standard with a V6 so it has ample power too.
The ford Escape is virtually the same car as the Mazda Tribute and I remember the interior being a little crowded to be honest and with nothing too great sticking out.

What things have gone wrong with the car? Have had numerous issues with the brakes and wheel bearings. Also, had several occasions when the car would not start and had to have it towed due to "programming" or computer issues?
