A canyon landform is a deep and narrow valley with high walls that typically extends for miles. Erosion that takes hundreds of thousand of years is the cause of this forming landform. The steep walls are made from the rocks we all know as sandstone and granite. There are also canyons that are underwater which are known to the systematic community as submarine types. Some of these landforms are thousands of feet under their surrounding landscape which give canyons depth. The widths of the canyons may vary between miles or feet. In rare occurrences, the light of the sun cannot reach to the ground of the canyon due to how deep it is.
The wind and water usually produces canyons during a very long and tedious process of erosion by water and wind. Wind does play a big part of forming canyon landforms. Water though, is the most important reason of forming canyon landforms. Water scours and cuts away the layers of rock and forms the floor of the canyon over hundreds of years. Canyons are the results of millions of years of dispensation to give the existing shape. Canyon landforms have larger depth than the width. Canyon landforms are narrow and deep valley carved by a swift-moving river and the walls of the canyon landforms could be V-shaped or smooth. These impressive landforms are formed in the limestone rock areas as the limestone is to a certain extent soluble.
Gradual geologic uplift may end up in massive rivers running in the canyons. These streams are referred to as entrenched rivers. Rivers that are in canyons have a tough time changing their direction. In the northwestern US there are 2 examples of geologic uplift rivers; they are the Colorado River and the Snake River.
Two other kinds of canyon landforms are found around the planet are the plateau and slot types. The most common ways canyons are formed are through erosion. Two of the most famed types of plateaus and erosion landforms are the Grand Canyon located in mostly in Arizona and the Black Canyon is Colorado. A river is flowing on the floor of these canyons which erodes and shapes them. Many of the Grand Canyon has walls that are high and steep.
There is a significant difference between a slot canyon and plateau canyon. Some of the slot canyon landforms are measured less than one meter. Slot canyons are formed by rushing flood water. This flood can occur because of heavy rainfall. In the dry environments rain water runs quickly downhill as the soil cannot absorb it. As it keeps on raining, the water does erode the land very quickly. Since the water appears quickly but then disperses quickly, these types of canyons are generally dry until it rains again.
Colorado River and Its Changes
The Colorado raised ground begins in western Colorado and extends all the way through Glen Canyon. Strengthen made the meandering streams of the Colorado River sprint faster which helped cut the canyons that are Lake Powell's washbasin. Two main rivers, the Colorado and the San Juan along with their tributaries, have carved out the canyons and mesas all along the lane of least confrontation. On one occasion the rivers opened the canyons and exposed the cliffs, the storm and water chipped and polished the land into the intricately sculpted formations we observe in our day. One more geological area of curiosity to point out is the confluences of the Escalante River and San Juan River which stretch out within Lake Powell. The slower run of the San Juan has produced unbelievable Goose Necks, where five miles of waterway are contained inside one mile in a straight line line.
The oldest uncovered rocks in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area date as of the Pennsylvanian and Permian periods, 310 and 280 million years back in that order, and these are observable just in a small number of places. The oldest we can consider Paradox Formation, which is seen as pinkish-grey upright and asymmetrical cliffs. Most of this rock was deposited at the bottom of the sea. It can be seen in Cataract Canyon and in the lowest point of the higher San Juan River Canyon. The Permian Period rocks, which consist of the Cutler, Cedar Mesa, and Honaker Trail formations, are beach like deposits. They form rose-coloured to cream-colored irregular cliffs and ledges in Glen Canyon. These changes can as well be seen in Cataract Canyon and San Juan River Canyon. The subsequently period, the Triassic Period began about 230 million years before with the statement of fine-grained, reddish-brown stonework known as the Moenkopi Formation.

Why would GM not offer the Colorado/Canyon pickup in green? Isn't green a pretty standard color? ?
I just can't think of a logical explanation to this. Is bright orange really more popular for a truck than a forest green would be?
not in my book but GM doesn't think like the ordinary person, it will probably eventually be offered but GM only brings out 2 or 3 new colors a year, write GM a letter and ask them if they have any intention of bringing out forrest green on the canyon as the more letters they get with customer wants the better the chances are of getting what you want.
