The Sciences and the Nose in Bible and Quran

Before dealing with the topic of the "Nose" in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is mandatory to remember that the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise.

The Nose is mentioned 19 times in the Bible and only once in the Quran, i.e. the Bible mentions the Nose 19 times more than the Quran

In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times (word-wise) and 19 times (subject-wise) than the Quran to talk about the Nose.

The Nose in the Bible:

The Lord will put his hook in your nose and his bit in your mouth

I wonder, does the Lord have a hook and a bit?

2 Kings 19:28

The Nose ring

The Bible talks about Nose ring in five verses.

Genesis 24:22

When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels.

Genesis 24:30

As soon as he had seen the nose ring, and the bracelets on his sister's arms, and had heard Rebekah tell what the man said to her, he went out to the man and found him standing by the camels near the spring.

And I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.

The Nose in the Quran:

Allah has written in Torah that a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds equal retaliation, but whosoever forgoes it as a freewill offering, it will be expiation for him. Whoever does not judge according to what Allah has sent down are the wrong-doers.

The Bible does not talk about whosoever forgoes the Law a freewill offering and its reward in the afterlife!

Surah 5:45

QARIB: we have written for them a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds equal retaliation, but whosoever forgoes it as a freewill offering, it will be an expiation for him. whoever does not judge according to what allah has sent down are the harmdoers.

SHAKIR: and we prescribed to them in it that life is for life, and eye for eye, and nose for nose, and ear for ear, and tooth for tooth, and (that there is) reprisal in wounds; but he who foregoes it, it shall be an expiation for him; and whoever did not judge by what allah revealed, those are they that are the unjust

PICKTHAL: and we prescribed for them therein: the life for the life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. but whoso forgoeth it (in the way of charity) it shall be expiation for him. whoso judgeth not by that which allah hath revealed: such are wrong-doers.

YUSUFALI: we ordained therein for them: "life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." but if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. and if any fail to judge by (the light of) what allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) wrong-doers.

It should be emphasized that the Torah's law that is mentioned in four verses never says "Nose for Nose".

The law says: Life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, wound for wound BUT never says Nose for Nose.

However, in the Quran Allah has written in Torah that a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose etc.

my sliding glass door is full of dog nose and slobber i've tried all kinds of cleaners and it still does not w

i have tried all kinds of cleaning agents and elbow greese. does anyone have any ideas how i can get this stuff washed off?

I have two Dobermans and they are always drooling over my sliding glass patio door. I finally started using 409. I let it soak then took a razor blade scraper and cleaned the glass. Then I took a scouring pad with windex, scrubbed it again and rinsed it off with water. It has been working fine for me for the past few years. I do this about once a month. In between I just use windex and a scouring pad.

Make sure you rinse it good afterwards because the dog will continue licking the glass and all that.
