Bug Shields: Deflectors of Road Grime
The exterior components of every vehicle are precision-engineered to be tough so that utmost protection for the fragile interior components is ensured. The materials used for these parts are considerably strong to endure severe collision damage. No matter how tough these parts are, however, road grimes can eventually spoil them in the long run. The hood’s edge, for instance, which is one of the most damage-prone parts, can be protected by bug shields from all those road dirt.
Bug shields, which are also called hood deflectors, are protective add-on components. Made from durable and impact-resistant materials, these special auto parts can be easily installed right on the edge of a car’s hood. While some types require drilling, other types can just be attached with double-sided tapes. But how do bug shields work? These auto parts prevent road particles such as stones, branches, and bugs from getting thrown on the hood and windshield. These particles are most often picked up by wheel ridges along the path and thrown off to the front portion of the vehicle. The hood and windshield of cars equipped with bug shields are protected from possible unsightly cracks, dents, scratches, and bug stains. The gleaming surface of the hood, which is very prominent, is preserved while costly refinishing and paint jobs are avoided.
While the primary function of a bug shield is to protect a car’s exterior, this car component also adds to the overall look and feel of an automobile. When a driver gets the right shape and size for his vehicle, this deflector can transform a car’s style from plain to sporty. There are even multi-colored pieces available for more adventurous drivers.
Beyond its styling benefit, a bug shield is important for its protective capacity. This auto part is definitely a wise investment that even keeps an automobile looking good all the time. After all, performance quality is not enough to gauge the total value of a vehicle. Keeping a car new-looking and making it more stylish while saving money is just as important.

How much does 5 Francs from 1968 cost in US dollars?
My dad just gave me a coin I´ll describe it
On the front it has a picture of a monk or somebody with a hood and it says "Confoederatio Helvitica"
On the back it has a shield with a cross inside it also says 5FR. and theres two different kind of twigs with flowers on them its from 1968 and has a little "B" under the year
If you cant read i said DOLLARS
You have a 5 Francs coin from Switzerland it is KM # 40a.1, it is made out of copper nickel. The B is the mint mark, so the coin was minted in Bern, Switzerland. The person on the coin is William Tell not a monk. There were a few of this date minted on silver blanks by mistake. Unfortunately the catalog does not tell how to tell the difference. The silver one weights 15.00 grams, but they don't say how much the copper nickel one weighs, or is the weigh the same. By gently dropping it on a table and it has a nice ring it may be silver, I hate this way of doing it, but most people don't have gram scales, just be gentle. They are rare though, so your chance is not good. No price for the silver one is listed. The regular issue sells for around $5.00 give or take a $1, in uncirculated grades. As for its value as spendable money it takes 1.245 Swiss Francs to make a $1.00. you can take it from there
