An optimized and calculated air-fuel-ratio is good for the productive environment of the internal combustion engine and due to this the car runs better in all different types of situations. It is very much necessary that the fuel utilization should be in highly controlled manner and by this the gas mileage of the vehicle also increases. 5 Ways to Find Affordable, Quality Parts for Your Vehicle
The latest offerings from American automakers has the industry buzzing. Coupled with steep discounts, cars are rolling out of showrooms at a record clip. Not everyone is buying a new car these days, instead a significant number of car lovers are maintaining and keeping their cars for five or ten years, even longer. However, finding affordable, quality parts for any model car can be difficult particularly as the car ages. Let’s look at five ways you can find parts for your soon to be classic.
1. The Dealers. Some dealer inventories are extensive and include parts for classic models including the Dodge Charger, Coronet, and Omni; Ford Mustang, Thunderbird, and LTD; and Chevrolet Camaro, Caprice, and Vega. Their prices, however, can be steep as you are paying the dealer rate and receiving genuine manufacturer parts.
2. The Junk Yard. The cheapest parts out there can be pulled off a wreck that has been placed in a salvage yard. Of course finding the particular make/model part and hoping that it isn't damaged or worn out is another thing.
3. Parts Stores. Your local parts store may stock what you need. If not, the better ones can place an order and have it shipped in.
4. Ebay. What isn't sold online through eBay and other auction sites? Precious little! There is one important caveat with purchasing through an auction site: fraud is rampant. Only purchase through these types of businesses if you know the buyer and you can get a guarantee.
5. Shop Online. Brick and mortar stores are receiving stiff competition from online purveyors. Some are good, some aren't. Things to look for in an online merchant: check to make sure that they are a recognized name in the industry, stock quality parts, offer toll free phone support, ship from a U.S. address, and their shipping and handling fees are clearly stated. Prices at these types of stores are usually very competitive; they are also the same stores that many of your local parts stores order from. If you order from them directly, you will cut out the middle man and realize significant savings.
So, if your 1996 Chevrolet Impala is your pride and joy you can keep it going for many more years by acquiring affordable, quality car parts from a reputable seller. Shop informed!

Will a 455 fit in an 80's B- Body GM (caprice, impala, delta, lesabre etc) without extensive modifications?
I've been considering purchasing a 455 to put in my 1982 Oldsmobile Delta 88. It has the stock 307 right now and needs a little more motivation.
I know a Chevy 350 and different trans are easier to build, but I was thinking more along the lines of a 455 w/ turbo 400 trans. If it flys, I'll probably give it a moderate cam, intake, and possibly exhaust. I'm not looking for balls to the walls 4 second 0-60's but something that is ballsy enough to spin the tires and sound insane.
Getting to the question...
What kind of modifications would I have to do to slam the 455 under the hood? I'm mostly concerned with getting the engine in the car, not keeping the rear end in it and what not. Would I need to hack at the firewall? Weld in some kind of tricky engine mount bracketry? Someone told me that the 455 should bolt right in with different mounts because they share external block dimensions and have the same bolt pattern as the 5.0 and 5.7 olds. More or less, what does the swap entail?
You shouldn't have to modify the trans mount if you already have a 307 Olds. Nothing is really "bolt in": the 455 Rocket is wider than the 260/307/350, but the bellhousing is the same. So you're looking at exhaust and all the engine stuff from the donor car - brackets and stuff. I put a 455 in a 1981 Cadillac that had an olds 350 Diesel, the same exterior dimensions as the 307/350 gas, and all I had to modify was the exhaust. the Caddy's the same size as the Delta. I was going to do the swap with my 82 Delta 88 Diesel, it works out way cool. You won't have cooling issues if you can find a diesel 88 or Caddy in a junkyard to rob the radiator from. If you don't go super crazy with the 455, the trans behind the 307 will hold up well. Good luck, you won't be disappointed!
