Here are some more information for Civic Type:

The Japanese version of the Civic was sold as a 4-door Sedan which generates 222bhp at 8400RPM. This is more powerful than the European version, which generates 198bhp at 7,800RPM. The external features of the 3-Door hatchback have changed some what since 2001, with a slightly less 'sporty' look and more of a 'Honda space age' look. However - under the bonnet the 2litre VTEC engine is the same (tweaked) engine as was in the previous generation, which isn't a bad thing..
Although the new version is heavier its still lightning quick for its class, with a 0-62mph time of 6.6 seconds. The top speed hasn't changed and remains at 146MPH. Honda have changed the double wishbone set-up in the rear suspension to a torsion bar suspension, they claim it makes the new civic type R more rigid than before.
The Vehicle Stability Assist on the Civic has been tweaked a little extra, which gives the driver more control.. and ultimately more fun! Fuel economies will undoubtedly be high for those of you who push it until the pistons fly through the bonnet. Expect around 30-40mpg.
As mentioned before, the weight of the car has increased. This is due to the fact that Honda have added more features, making it more of a drivers car. The features include dual climate control, drilled aluminum pedals & footrest, an alloy gear knob for the new 6 speed gearbox, leather steering wheel, auto wipers & lights and optional sat nav.
Unfortunately this time around Honda have taken a step back - they may have introduced new gadgets and features, but nothing new in terms of pure performance comes out of this vehicle.

Honda Civic is a complete family hatchback
The Honda Civic is a radically designed family hatchback which is built by one of the world’s most technologically innovative car makers. Despite this, Honda has a reputation for conservatism as its cars have traditionally appealed to older buyers, largely because the exterior design has typically been rather unadventurous. Not here though, as the Civic combines cutting-edge interior and exterior design with some great engines, excellent reliability and superb practicality. This latter point is largely down to a carrying capacity that’s much better than most key rivals, but the car’s popularity is also helped by the generous equipment levels.
It’s an attractive and comfortable car, bags of fun to drive, and it’s British-built. What more could you want?
Honda should be applauded for avoiding the temptation to tone down the Civic from their earlier concept designs.
The triangular foglights and exhausts, visor-like headlamps and racy, squat forward profile are all present and correct and give it a dramatic, purposeful poise.
Why should buyers of small cars like this be spared such vanities as folding mirrors, or stealthed rear door handles, which make the five door car look like a coupe?
HONDA CIVIC - DID YOU KNOW?
- The Civic accounts for around a third of Honda’s global sales, with the car having been produced in 11 countries and sold in 160
- When launched, the Civic had by far the biggest boot of any car in its class. Whereas the typical capacity was around 320 litres, the Civic could accommodate 485 litres
- While most petrol engines feature just one spark plug for each cylinder, the Civic 1.4 I-DSi powerplant features a pair of plugs for each cylinder
- When unveiled, the eighth-generation Civic was awarded the highest ever pedestrian safety rating by EuroNCAP
HONDA CIVIC – TYPES
- Sep 2005: The eighth-generation Civic reached showrooms, with a choice of three engines. The entry-level car featured a 1.4-litre petrol engine (badged 1.4-DSI), while there was also a 1.8-VTEC unit. Diesel fans could opt for Honda’s excellent all-alloy 2.2-iCDTi unit
- Jan 2006: A new Civic IMA hybrid saloon was offered, but it didn’t feature the radical five-door hatch styling, even if the technology was more cutting-edge
- an 2007: A three-door Civic was introduced, in the shape of the Type S, which is fitted with a choice of 1.8 petrol or 2.2-litre diesel powerplants. There was also a high-spec edition introduced, called the GT
- Mar 2007: Honda Type R went on sale, using the same three-door bodyshell as the Type S, but with Honda’s fabulous, high-revving 2-litre VTEC petrol engine to give 198bhp. Once again, there was also a high-spec GT derivative offered

when is the civic type r coming to the united states?
i want a civic type r but there nowhere around here ive her its coming in 2010 is that true and will it be permanent
I doubt it will. It doesn't have much more power than the Si so it would just take sales from that. The Si isn't cheap so you figure this would cost even more and price it against much better cars.
1994 Honda Civic Ex Coupe from North America - Comments
A/C compressor went out a month after I bought it, and I have yet to replace it. Driving around in Houston with no A/C is no fun... Previous owner hadn't performed maintenance so I had to replace the timing belt and gaskets.
