Choosing the right type of Mid-Sized SUV can be a little challenging if you don't know what to look for. The best way to determine what to look for in a Mid-Sized SUV is to think about what your needs are. Do you have a large family, do the kids have lots of equipment and games, do you carpool, do you travel off road, do you only drive on the street. Determine what you will be using this SUV for and you will be able to narrow it down.
Specifics to Look for
Any good Mid-Sized SUV should have rear drive, 4 wheel drives, all wheel drive or front drive. The vehicle should be able to handle all types of weather. It should be able to handle any cargo needs you have. It should have several safety features like antilock breaks, side air bags, an anti-skid system, roll over sensors, and park assist.
Types of Driving Terrain
Whether you are driving on snow, off roads, or street driving there should be a Mid-Sized SUV to fit your needs. A vehicle that is great for the snow would be a front drive, all wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive SUV. A 4 wheel drive or an all wheel drive is also excellent for off roading, and lastly rear or front rear drive is excellent for street driving.
Disadvantages
There are a few disadvantages of a Mid-Sized SUV, like high insurance rates, high maintenance cost, low fuel economy, and high overall cost. Some Mid-Sized SUV's may not be ideal for lifting small children due to the height of the vehicle; in this case a minivan may be more suitable depending on your needs.
Benefits
A Mid-Sized SUV can offer several positive aspects like it has large cargo room, multi-passenger space, 6-8 cylinder engines, they are great for the outdoors, they are great for large families, some can seat up to eight passengers.
Top Choices
There are a few top models to choose from like, Honda Pilot, Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, Ford Freestyle, Nissan Murano, Toyota Forerunner, Nissan Xterra, and Toyota Highlander. The SUV was based off of a truck frame but it was too bulky so the manufacturers moved to a car like frame for better mobility and maneuverability. For those consumers that want to hall things it is best to get an SUV that is more built like a truck, and for those people that want a car like feel than the car like framed models are best like a Jeep Cherokee or a Subaru Tribeca.
Conclusion
Choose a vehicle that supports your needs and your budget and you will end up with a Mid-Sized SUV that won't dig too deep in to your wallet.

New Generation of Scion Vehicles
In 2003, Toyota decided to create a brand that will target the younger car buyers as Toyota’s buyer base grows older. Since that time, Scion has been known for coming up with the most radically looking production vehicles. Initially, the brand looks to gain success in the United States auto market with the Scion xA. But it was the iconic xB which popularizes the brand in the country. And for the 2008 model year, Scion will be introducing a new xB and a replacement for the discontinued xA model.
The Scion xB is a boxy five-door compact hatchback introduced in the market as a 2004 model year vehicle. Its uniqueness made the xB a runaway success. The boxy vehicle has attracted the attention of young car buyers who are looking for vehicles which can be considered youthful and, at the same time, can be easily personalized.
For the 2008 model year, Scion interviewed its customers and found out that they like the xB box but they want a bigger box. The result, of course, with this study is a bigger xB which will be introduced as a 2008 model year car. In fact, in making the xB a bigger box, Scion designed a new platform for the vehicle and also upgraded its features.
Under the hood of the first generation xB is a 1.5-liter engine with an output of 108 horsepower. While for most city drivers, that power output is enough, Scion listened to the majority of its customers and gave the xB a larger and more powerful engine. The engine of the new xB will be a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine that it shared with the Scion tC coupe. The bigger engine can produce as much as 158 horsepower. With a bigger box, the additional power is a perfect complement.
The new engine for the xB is designed to be fuel efficient - a trademark for the Toyota Motor Corporation. Aside from the reduced fuel consumption as compared to other engines of the same capacity, the engine for the Scion xB also uses emission filtration technologies to keep greenhouse gas emission to a minimum. The engine can be paired to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. The automatic gearbox is equipped with a sequential manual shifter. Stopping power can be provided by aftermarket parts such as EBC Redstuff brake pads.
The bigger box that Scion promises to their customers is nearly a foot longer than its forerunner. Obviously, the longer box rides on a longer wheelbase, four inches more than the previous generation of the xB. Across, the new xB is three inches wider than its predecessor.
Also for the 2008 model year, Scion will introduce the replacement for the discontinued xA. Called the xD, the new car is a different entity to xA. The two models are so different in fact that a new name was given to the car. The xD is scheduled to be released into the market by August of this year.
The xD is larger than the xA. This shows the trend that cars of today are getting bigger and larger all the time. Although larger than the xA, the xD is still no bigger than the xB. Exterior styling of the xD was made in Japan while its interior is designed in Europe. The xB, similar to the xD is also designed in Japan and Europe. The introduction of these two vehicles in the market will usher in a new era for the youth brand Scion.

R&S crowd, I have earthly questions?
OK, so I have a BBQ grill that I love, and has these cast iron cooking surfaces. they rust a little. How do I remove the rust and season them? I know how to season a cast iron pan, but not so sure how to remove the rust.
Secondly, some savage broke off the antenna on my toyota forerunner, and I was not fortunate enough to witness it ( i would have spanked that kid in the middle of the parking lot). If I install a Sirius satellite radio, with the hard wire connection to the radio, can I go without the antenna?
Yeah, I know that this isnt religious or spiritual, and I know I am trying to squeeze a two-fer in here, but I truly could use some advice on these pressing issues.
Deus est mea lux.
Mick, loved your answer. I asked God last night, and he said to come here, you silly heretic
Friend, the cast iron cooking surfaces should be quite easy. Soft iron which is waht cast iron is, rusts pretty easily, but it is easy to clean. If you have an electric drill, buy a circular steel brush attachment and brush the daylights out of all the rust/scale off the grill. Seasoning will be just as easy, but do bot expect it to last forever. Get some peanut oil, and after you have removed the rust, brush the grill with it generously and let it soak at very low heat for an hour, repeat twice.
Sirius satellite radio setup will have a tiny pigtail antenna on the back of your car.
